Federal Information Resources
- National Marine Fisheries Service - Part of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and is responsible for managing and sustaining most living marine resources and their habitat in U.S. waters.
- Pacific Fishery Management Council - One of eight regional fishery management councils established under the Magnuson Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976 and the Sustainable Fisheries Act of 1996. It has developed fishery management plans for salmon and other fish in the US Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) off the coasts of Washington, Oregon and California.

- Columbia Basin Fish and Wildlife Authority - Coordinates interagency activities of the Columbia River Basin between the federal and state fish and wildlife managing agencies and Indian tribes or their tribal coordinating entities.
- Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission (NWIFC) - Established by treaty and assists the tribes in conducting orderly and biologically-sound fisheries and to provide member tribes with a single, unified voice on the fisheries management and conservation issues.
- Northwest Power Planning Council - A four-state compact formed by Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington to oversee electric power system planning and fish and wildlife recovery in the Columbia River Basin.
- Pacific Salmon Commission - Established by treaty between the United States and Canada, and provides regulatory advice and recommendations to the two countries on salmon fisheries.

- Linking Land Use to Water Quality: Linking Town Hall To Technology - University of Connecticut Nonpoint Education for Municipal Officials (NEMO) educational program for local land use officials that addresses the relationship of land use to natural resource protection.

- Columbia-Pacific RC&D - A nonprofit organization established in 1972 which serves a four-county region of rural southwest Washington, including Grays Harbor, Mason, Pacific, and Wahkiakum Counties. Programs includes a habit restoration, environmental stewardship training.
- For the Sake of the Salmon - Works to build consensus on salmon management issues, supports efforts to recover and protect watersheds, and is establishing a Pacific Salmon Watershed Fund.
- EarthCorps - A program bringing young people from King County together with their peers from around the world to work on environmental restoration projects throughout the county.
- EcoTrust - Supports the emergence of a conservation economy in the coastal temperate rain forest region of North America, which stretches from Northern California to SE Alaska. Interrain Pacific merged with Ecco Trust in January 1999. Projects include watersheds and salmon studies. Hosts Tidepool News.
- River Network - Helps people monitor, protect and restore rivers and watersheds.
- Sustainable Fisheries Foundation - A U.S./Canadian non-profit organization run by aquatic ecologists and fishery scientists concerned with the long-term health of fisheries resources. Provides technical support, participates in salmon recovery efforts, and organizes major scientific conferences and symposia on fisheries-related issues.
